Website anti-spam update
Hi all,
I’ve just installed a bit of software specifically tailored to protecting our site from spammers. It’s configured to defend the various forms to submit content including the contact forms, forum topic forms and so forth.
The problem was that a few persistent, but not very clever, spammers were hiring people to send spam e-mail to the admins, including some of our trustees. The next step from that would be the same people logging in to post spam on the forums. to prevent all of the above we’ve partnered with an organisation called Mollom, put together by the founders of Drupal, that parses the posts, comments and e-mail posted on the site for spam and block those that are. It’s significantly more intelligent than many other packages out there, and adapts to block new forms of spam at the site boundaries, so we’re hopeful about the results we’ll see.
As no solution is 100% effective we understand that someone may be inadvertently blocked when they shouldn’t be. If so, e-mail us at the usual places and we’ll be glad to sort things out for you. Otherwise carry on as before and hopefully there’ll be (literally!) nothing to see here.
Many thanks!

Thanks...
a lot. Too techy for me to vaguely understand, but thanks. grace
