The S:VOX forums are discussion areas for people who are adult survivors of abuse, their supporters and friends who support S:VOX financially or with their own ways of helping. The forums are not open to the general public and are restricted to the memberships of those three groups.
To be allowed access to one or more of these groups, please e-mail us by filling out the form here (the same as the contact us link above) stating why you wish to join the forums and one of our moderators will notify you once access has been granted.
We understand this appears to be a draconian process but due to the nature of the community we serve we insist that their security be foremost before we grant access to it.

Coming along to a self help meeting
I have been reading on your website that you are a group of survivors that provide self help weekends to people regardless of gender, disability etc etc
Both me and my partner are survivors of abuse but have never found a self help group that has been able to accomodate our needs. We both are profoundly deaf which means our preferred language is British Sign Language. I say prefered but we dont really have a choice, its the only way we are able to communicate with each other and society as a whole. We seem to have come up against a huge barrier that we cant break down and feel at the minute we just dont have access to services offered to survivors because of our perceived disability.
I am hoping that as you are "committed to the inclusion of all, in all our diversity (e.g. gender, age, ethnicity, disability, sexuality, experience, culture, all faiths or none" we have finally found a place where we can begin a journey of recovery with fellow survivors.

I know our contact person is replying to you fully off-list - but just to let you and everyone know that we are definitely fully committed to doing everything we possibly can to dismantle any barriers to joining in with S:VOX.
We are all here to help each other - all volunteers and mostly survivors too - focussing on how do we make this possible together, so I am sure together we will find a good solution!
